Activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the Day for Invalids and War Martyrs
(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue laid a wreath and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Road No 9 and Truong Son National Cemeteries in Quang Tri province on Saturday.

Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee on Saturday held a ceremony to commemorate the Day for War Invalids and Martyrs and to open Gac Ma Martyrs Commemoration Site. Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Tran Thanh Hai, said the relic symbolized Vietnamese patriotism and unity as well as aspiration for national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man visited and presented gifts to heroic mothers in Da Nang City.
Minister of Defense, General Ngo Xuan Lich, visited and presented gifts to war invalids in Bac Ninh province’s Thuan Thanh center for invalids care.
Earlier on Friday, Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee held a requiem for heroic martyrs at the ancient citadel of Quang Tri. Head of the labor union of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policy, Doan Van Khai was speaking in the ceremony: “The ancient citadel of Quang Tri witnessed massive sacrifice of predecessor generations for national liberation and independence. This is a place for annual visits by many of our delegations to recall the heroic martyrs’ merits.”
The Vietnam Bank for Social Policy granted gifts for heroic mothers in Quang Tri province on this occasion.
