(VOVworld) – The Youth newspaper and Kien Long Commercial Joint-stock bank on Tuesday signed an agreement to support the soldiers who are defending the East Sea.

This is part of the program “Joining hands to protect Vietnam’s sovereignty over the East Sea”, launched by the Central Committee of Vietnam Youth Federation and the Youth newspaper. Under the agreement, Kien Long Commercial Joint-stock bank will donate 150,000 USD to a fund to support soldiers defending the East Sea. Vo Van Chau is a member of the Executive Board of the bank: "We issued ATM cards titled Truong Sa Vietnam and Hoang Sa Vietnam. With this program, we plan to designate 5,000 VND for each ATM issuance and 3,000 VND from each cash withdrawal to donate to the fund". 

So far, the program has managed to raise 300,000 USD. On the same day, the Tuoi Tre or Young Age newspaper and Da Nang city’s Fishermen Association granted more than 150,000 USD to support 55 disadvantaged fishermen in the area.
