(VOVWORLD) - Activities are underway inside and outside Vietnam to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh’s 130th birthday.
The Voice of Vietnam on Tuesday broadcast a special live program called “Our Uncle Ho” featuring several guests who have studied Ho Chi Minh, his revolutionary career, life, and morality: VOV President Nguyen The Ky, French historian Alain Russio, and Professor Hoang Chi Bao.
The People’s daily newspaper ran an article entitled “Ho Chi Minh Thought forever brightens with time”. The article highlights Ho Chi Minh’s place in Vietnamese people’s hearts, their striving for national development, and preparations for upcoming Party Congresses at all levels toward the 13th National Party Congress.
The People’s Army newspaper wrote that the Vietnam People’s Army is strengthening the movement of following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example for Unclo Ho’s 130th birthday. The newspaper cited the goals of building a revolutionary, professional, and elite army to defend national sovereignty, territorial integrity, the Party, the State, socialism, and the people.
To mark the occasion, an art program was broadcast live on Monday at the same time in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, and Dong Thap province on Monday. The programme “Ho Chi Minh, illuminating the will of Vietnam” was attended by leaders of the Party, State, and government.
An exhibition of 200 photos and documents related to President Ho Chi Minh was held in Hung Yen province. 27 role models in following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example were honored at a ceremony in An Giang province on Monday.
A meeting to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Monday.
The same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt organized a webinar on President Ho Chi Minh bringing together a number of diplomats and friends of Vietnam from Egypt and other countries.

Webinar delegates highlighted Ho Chi Minh’s important role in Vietnam’s struggle for national independence and reunification and acknowledged his influence on fights against imperialist and colonialist oppression around the world.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Tran Thanh Cong said: “The webinar was an opportunity for Vietnam’s foreign friends to better understand President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary career and his contributions not only to Vietnam but also to people around the world in their struggle for national liberation.”
At a ceremony to mark the event at the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico. Ambassador Nguyen Hoai Duong called on overseas Vietnamese to strengthen the movement of following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.
