The visit comes amid escalating terror attacks in Afghanistan and suspended peace talks with the Taliban. The delegation discussed bilateral issues with Pakistan's national security adviser Sartaj Aziz and several other officials. This was the first high-level meeting since the Taliban announced the death of its founder Mullah Omar last month. Mr. Aziz said he hopes Afghanistan’s government and the Taliban will soon clear up misunderstandings and revive negotiations.
