Ambassadors vow to reinforce links between Vietnam and the world - ảnh 190 Vietnamese ambassadors and chiefs of mission attend the 30th diplomatic conference which opens in Hanoi on August 13, 2018.

On the sidelines of the ongoing 30th diplomatic conference in Hanoi, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Pham Sanh Chau said that priority will be given to cultural exchanges.

“India, one of 3 comprehensive strategic partners of Vietnam, boasts a huge market of 1.3 billion people. In addition to economic and defense cooperation, I will focus on cultural ties, as the 2 countries share many cultural similarities. Cultural cooperation will serve as a stepping-stone for cooperation in other areas,” Mr. Chau elaborated.

Consolidating the relationship between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland is a key mission of the Vietnamese embassy in Germany. Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung said the embassy has frequently organized activities to promote Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty among the Vietnamese community in Germany.

“We are coordinating closely with the local Vietnamese community to preserve our cultural traditions. A club of people who have visited Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago has been set up. These people have become speakers promoting Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty,” Ambassador Hung explained.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh said priority has been given to enhancing business and investment cooperation between the 2 countries.

“We have informed Vietnamese businesses about Cambodia’s socio-economic situation and helped them clear procedures, settle trade disputes, and promote their brands.  We have established a round-the-clock hotline, developed websites on exports to Cambodia and connected businesses with their Cambodian partners,” Mr. Minh added.

The 5-day diplomatic conference involves 90 Vietnamese ambassadors and chiefs of mission.
