(VOVWORLD) - Visitors will have an opportunity to meet world-renowned chef Martin Ran and join a traditional festival of the Khmer people to honor their local tutelary goddess during a tourism month which began in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on Tuesday.

Throughout the month, an ox racing festival, a boat race, a lantern releasing event, a music gala featuring bands from the Mekong Delta, and a seminar on tourism development will be held.
Organizing this event, An Giang province intends to make tourism a spearhead economic sector.
