(VOVworld) - Outstanding swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien has won the title “Best Athlete of the Year” for the second time.

According to the Vietnam Sports Newspaper on Wednesday, Vien received the highest vote total with 1,077 points, followed by shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh (975 points) and weight-lifter Thach Kim Tuan (944 points). Swimmer Anh Vien has had impressive achievements in 2014 at both domestic and international competitions. She is the first Vietnamese swimmer to be rated in the world’s top 10 in the women’s 400m individual medley by the International Swimming Federation and the first to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

Huynh Huu Chi, a weightlifting coach, won the Best Coach title. Swimmer Vo Thanh Tung topped the list of the 5 Best Athletes with Disabilities and swimming coach Dong Quoc Cuong was voted the Best Coach of Athletes with Disabilities.
