(VOVWORLD) -The movie "Anora" by American director Sean Baker won top prize, the Palme d'Or, of the Cannes Film Festival this year.

At the award ceremony on Saturday, the jury of the 77th Cannes Film Festival unveiled the complete list of winners under which the Grand Prix, the second-highest prize after the Palme d'Or, was awarded to "All We Imagine As Light" by Indian director Payal Kapadia.
Another surprise at this year’s Cannes was the crime musical "Emilia Perez" by French director Jacques Audiard won Prix du Jury and the film’s female ensemble - Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón and Adriana Paz - received the best actress honor.
Jesse Plemons won best actor for his role in “Kinds of Kindness” by director Yorgos Lanthimos’ anthology film.
Best director belonged to Miguel Gomes for his film "Grand Tour". The Portuguese director tells a story of a British official’s tour of Southeast Asia in 1917 through black and white shoots, representing the 1910s, intertwined with color shoots for what is taking place in 2020.
The best screenplay was presented to Coralie Fargeat for “The Substance”.
Norwegian director Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel won the Caméra d'Or for his feature directorial debut “Armand”.
The short film award was given to "The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent" by Croatian director Nebojša Slijpeceviec, and the Un Certain Regard award was given to "Black Dog" by director Guan Hu.
