At a meeting with representatives of the French National Centre for Cinema (CNC) on Tuesday, Ms. Van said this year Vietnam will hold three international film festivals – the Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival, the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in Da Nang, and the Hanoi International Film Festival. Ms. Van asked the CNC to help Vietnam organize those festivals. Vietnam also asked the CNC to help the Vietnamese Cultural Center in France introduce Vietnamese movies to France and Europe.
Jérémie Kessler, European and International Affairs director of the CNC, praised the development of Vietnam’s domestic film market with many films becoming box office hits and receiving many positive reviews from international film critics.
The CNC considers Vietnam an important partner in the region and has carried out many effective cooperation activities. The CNC will seek opportunities to cooperate and promote Vietnamese movies at French film festivals, such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Three Continents Film Festival.
