Anti-corruption efforts at local levels see significant progress
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that significant progress has been made in the fight against corruption and negativity in localities across the country since provincial-level Steering Committees on Anti-Corruption and Negativity were established last year.

At a conference in Hanoi on Monday to review one-year operation of the committees, Party leader Trong said it is a must to build personnel with firm mettle and pure morality, and complete regulations to effectively prevent unhealthy interference into the operations of anti-corruption agencies, stressing the need to fight corruption and negativity right in anti-corruption agencies.
“Since the establishment of provincial-level Committees, localities have prosecuted 530 cases, up 150% in the number of cases and 800 defendants more than 2021. Wrongdoers are duly punished no matter what position they hold,” said Mr. Trong.
The Party chief, who is also head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity, underlined the need to build a culture of integrity and no corruption among officials, Party members, public servants, State employees and people.
