The "Folklore in Gen Z" exhibition is organized by the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities at the Temple of Literature, in collaboration with the creative enterprise TiredCity.
The illustrations use modern artistic language to honor the beauty of Vietnamese folk culture, such as Đông Hồ paintings, classical opera, and traditional children's rhymes associated with the childhoods of many generations of Vietnamese.
"The young artists’ inspiration comes largely from their childhood, when they were exposed to many cultural stories and ancient forms of folk culture. This was the main source of inspiration for them in creating these illustrations. They hoped to help young people better understand folk culture through new, modern expressions," said Ms. Bui Ngoc Xuan, the exhibition’s manager.
The “Folklore in Gen Z” exhibition will run until the end of July.
