(VOVworld)- An art program to mark the 70^th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Police and 10^th anniversary of All People for National Defense took place in Hanoi on Friday. Books featuring the 70-year old history of Vietnam People’s Police were honored at this event.

In his opening speech, Lieutenant General Dang Van Hieu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security, said:“This program is aimed at honoring writers and their works about national defense. On this occasion, we want to present awards to winners of the Novel Writing Contest featuring the theme “For national defense and peaceful life”. We hope that this program will give the audience a more truthful and lively view on policemen’s hardships and sacrifices”.

On the occasion, President Truong tan Sang and Minister of Public Security General Tran Dai Quang presented flowers to 18 writers who were honored at the program for their contributions to national defense.
