(VOVworld) – A technical workshop to discuss the establishment of a hotline for maritime disputes between ASEAN countries concluded in Gadong, Brunei, on Thursday.
During the 3-day event, participants suggested a direct communication link and discussed its technical and technological parameters. Experts from Singapore, Australia, China, India, the US, the UK, and South Africa shared their experience and expertise in the field with ASEAN countries.
The direct communication link was proposed by the Sultan of Brunei while serving as Chairman of the 22nd ASEAN Summit last year to prevent the escalation of regional maritime disputes.
