A session of the UN Human Rights Council

(VOVworld) – ASEAN will continue to protect and promote human rights, said Nguyen Trung Thanh, ASEAN Co-ordinator for the UN Human Rights Council and Vietnamese Ambassador to the UN and the WTO at the 27^th UN Human Rights Council Session in Geneva on Monday. Ambassador Thanh said human rights’ promotion and protection should be adapted to each nation and region, noting that ASEAN will continue working closely with the UN High Commission for Human Rights to assure the neutrality and non-politicisation of their operations. The 27^th session of the UN Human Rights Council will close by September 26.
