(VOVworld) – ASEAn Secretary General Le Luong Minh has said that member countries are working harder toward establishing an ASEAN Community on December 31, 2015. In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency, Minh said that up to 90% of the workload has been completed. Concerning the post-2015 ASEAN Economic Vision, Minh said that during the 2016-2025 period ASEAN will strive to become a region of peace, stability, and prosperity. The ASEAN Community will be consolidated based on laws and principles to be able to deal with arising trends and challenges such as non-traditional security challenges. He said that the post2015 ASEAN Community should play a central role in regional institutions and be an active and reliable partner in the international arena.
