This year’s events will complete procedures for signing governmental-level multilateral documents to strengthen transport connectivity in ASEAN and between ASEAN and partner countries.
Delegates will discuss the implementation of programs and projects within the framework of the Kuala Lumpur Transport Strategic Plan through 2025, approve projects on ASEAN transport cooperation, and discuss ways to bolster transport links with China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and others.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung said: “As an active ASEAN member and ASEAN Chair 2020, Vietnam will work closely with other ASEAN nations in implementing commitments and agreements to raise ASEAN’s central role in the region, while coordinating with partners to maintain peace and stability, and ensuring free movements of goods by aviation, sea and land towards a prosperous ASEAN.”
