Addressing the 30th Asia Pacific Round Table in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak called on countries in the region and beyond to resolve the current developments in the East Sea carefully.
He said ASEAN should conclude negotiations expeditiously toward signing with China a Code of Conduct in the East Sea.
In the meantime, Malaysia urged all parties involved to implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea fully and effectively, adding that Malaysia will continue to rely on diplomacy and dialogue to peacefully resolving the disputes.
