(VOVworld) – In a joint statement by the ASEAN-EU Foreign Ministerial Conference in Brussels, ministers praised the UN Security Council’s Resolution 2166 on July 21 on the downing of the Malaysia Airline MH17 flight in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine.

The statement called on all relevant sides to avoid activities affecting the incident site, support investigators to have full access to the site safely, thoroughly, and immediately. The Ministers proposed a transparent and independent international investigation on the crash under the direction of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

In related news, Malaysian Minister of Transport, Liow Tiong Lai, said experts had begun to analyze data from the HM17 flight recorder after receiving it from the international investigation headed by Netherlands.
