( VOVworld ) The ASEAN-UN workshop entitled “Lesson Learned and Best Practices of the United Nations and Regional Organizations in Conflict Prevention, Peacemaking, Peacekeeping and Peace building” concluded on Wednesday at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Political Security Community Sayakane Sisouvong said that the workshop is the first concrete activity done under the framework of the ASEAN-UN Joint Declaration on the Comprehensive Partnership between ASEAN and the United Nations. He added that the workshop also identified possible ASEAN-UN initiatives and activities, aimed at enhancing ASEAN’s capacity in these areas as well as strengthening ASEAN-UN partnership in maintaining regional and international peace and security.
