(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese para weightlifter Dang Thi Linh Phuong won a gold medal in the women’s 50kg event at the Asian Para Games in Indonesia on Monday.

By successfully lifting 103kgs, Phuong left her Indonesian runner-up Khatun Sakina far behind. She said her next goal is to win a gold medal at the 2020 Paralympics before retiring as a weightlifter.
Swimmer Vo Thanh Tung also won a gold medal for Vietnam in the after finishing men’s 50m backstroke with a time of 38.50 seconds. The Vietnam team won silver and bronze medals in weightlifting and running.
Vietnam had won four golds, two silver and eight bronzes to rank 11th in the medal tally by 8pm Tuesday.
