Australia concerned about China’s show of strength in the East Sea
(VOVworld) – The international community has continued to criticized China’s actions in the East Sea in violation of international law. Addressing a conference of security and economic leaders at the Australian National University on Monday, the Minister for Communications Malcom Turnbull warned that China’s recent illegal acts in the East Sea were affecting regional peace and security.
The Wall Street Journal quoted Minister Turnbull as saying that Beijing would lose more if it continued its war-like policy. Minister Turnbull said that China’s policy of using force to threaten neighboring countries would be counterproductive and would isolate Beijing.
On the same day, speaking at the opening of an exhibition on contemporary Vietnam in Perth, western Australia, the Vietnamese Consul General Le Viet Duyen said that life in Vietnam would be threatened if peace, security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region were not maintained and ensured.
