He said the extension will start from 11:59 p.m. next Sunday. Andrews warned that the recent decline in COVID-19 new cases may only be temporary, so lockdown remains necessary. He added that it is not the right time to reopen the economy.
Some restrictions will be eased from next Sunday. The nightly curfew will start an hour later at 9pm, instead of 8pm. Two hours of daily outdoor exercise will be allowed.
Victoria is the epicenter of COVID-19’s second wave in Australia.
