Azerbaijan ambassador honored for fostering ties
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) on Thursday awarded Azerbaijan Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Lachin Oglu Imanov a Commemorative Insignia for Peace and Friendship among Nations in recognition of his efforts to foster bilateral ties.

Speaking at the award ceremony in Hanoi, VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga said Vietnamese people always remember support from the government and people of Azerbaijan for Vietnam in past struggle for independence and current national construction and defense.
She hailed Imanov, the first ambassador of Azerbaijan in Vietnam, for his important contributions to the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples since the Azerbaijan Embassy was established in Hanoi in 2013.
He also enthusiastically supported the founding of the Vietnam–Azerbaijan Friendship Association in 2015 with 100 members. She hoped that the ambassador will continue further contribute to the development of bilateral ties in the future.
