(VOVWORLD) - The Fragrant Squash Festival took place on Sunday in Bac Kan province’s Ba Be district, the key growing area of fragrant green squash.

The local specialty was promoted via livestream and social networks like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
Hoang Duong Huan, a local resident, said, "This program is very good for squash growers. Residents of Yen Duong and Dia Linh commune in Ba Be district want to continue to expand the growing area.”
Fragrant green squash is grown in two communes, Yen Duong and Dia Linh, on an area of 200 hectares. This is a native squash variety with a mild aroma that no other squash has.
Luu Quoc Trung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Be district, told VOV that they’ve used diverse forms of promotion to stimulate sales of fragrant green squash, not just in Vietnam, but internationally.
“We want to encourage people to expand the growing area, improve product quality, and develop the local agro-forestry economy,” said Trung.
