The PM congratulated artists, artisans, people, and leaders of Binh Dinh and 8 other provinces for the honor. He underlined the need to preserve Bai Choi singing heritage, saying: “The Vietnamese government is committed to join efforts with artisans, artists, and the community to strictly and effectively implement the National Action Program for preserving and promoting Bai Choi singing art of central Vietnam and other heritages recognized by UNESCO. We will ensure that “what belongs to the community should be returned to the community” and share the success story with other countries with similar heritages.”

The PM said Vietnam now ranks eight out of 177 member nations of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, as it has 12 intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the national action program on protecting and upholding the intangible cultural heritage of Bai Choi singing.
