(VOVworld) - The US presidential election next month will be a face-off between Democrat incumbent Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Opinion polls indicate that Obama and Romney command roughly equal support in the two most important battleground states of Florida and Ohio.  A Quinnipiac University Poll released Thursday showed Romney has the support of 44 percent of likely voters in Florida, and Obama 43 percent. In Ohio it’s 44% for the incumbent President and 42% for the former Massachusetts Governor. In another key battleground state, Pennsylvania, Obama leads 47 percent to 39 percent. A Gallup poll released the same day shows Romney and Obama statistically tied among registered voters at 45% and 46% respectively.
