Beyonce’s latest release, Texas Hold ’Em” debuted at no.1 on Billboard’s “Hot Country Songs” chart. Her second single for 2024, “16 Carriages” also made it to the chart’s top 9.
According to US music magazine Billboard, no biracial female artist or woman of colors had ever topped its country music chart before “Texas Hold ‘Em”.
Both singles are part of Beyonce’s upcoming album “Act II”, a follow-up to “Renaissance” which 42-year old Grammy-winning artist referred to as “Act I”, a disco-and-house inspired LP that dominated the summer of 2022.
With “Act II”, Beyonce is ready to dominate country, a genre that takes heavy inspiration from and a symbol of the history of her African American roots.
