(VOVworld) – Binh Duong New City will be built in the southern province of Binh Duong, marking a milestone toward the province’s industrialization and modernization.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung addressed a ceremony on Thursday to start the construction of Binh Duong New City and inaugurate the Centralized Administration Centre. He said: “This is a particularly important event in Binh Duong province’s development, reflecting the creativity and policies appropriate to the industrialization, urbanization, and modernization of Binh Duong province. I really appreciate the efforts of 58 local bodies to mobilize financial resources to build the Centralized Administration Centre without touching the state budget. The government encourages other cities and provinces to follow the example of Binh Duong province’s self-reliance in building centralized work centres.”

The 1,000-hectare Binh Duong New City will be developed into a modern urban area and the central district of Binh Duong city under a Government master plan by 2020. The Centralized Administration Centre is one of the key buildings in the new city.

The provincial People’s Committee granted certificates of investment for 24 enterprises and certificates of merit for 23 units and individuals who have contributed to the new city’s construction.
