(VOVWORLD) - Binh Thuan province plans to become an industrial center of clean energy and takes marine tourism as the key economic sector in association with eco-tourism and being one of the destinations in the central region’s heritage itinerary.

In Phan Thiet city on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended a ceremony to unveil Binh Thuan’s planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
He said Binh Thuan has outstanding advantages of geographical location and sea and that the planning orients the provincial development in connection with the south central coast and other regions.
“The province's new planning is an orientation. In order to have a comprehensive assessment and development of natural potentials, it is important to implement the Politburo’s Resolution 6 on planning, construction, management, and sustainable development of urban areas in Vietnam to 2030, with a vision to 2045. Urban development is considered one of the solutions, goals, and driving forces, linking urban areas and urban economy in provincial development," according to the Deputy PM.
According to the General Statistics Office, Binh Thuan's GRDP increased 8.1% last year, putting it number 14 of 63 provinces and cities nationwide and number 4 of 14 provinces and cities in the north central and central coast region.
The province's average income per capita per year is estimated at 3,500 USD.
