Scientists believe that Kon Plong forest with its great biodiversity deserves to be one of the foremost conversation sites in Vietnam.
A field survey by FFI and GreenViet Center discovered in Kon Plong forest a number of endangered species, including the grey-shanked douc langur, the yellow-cheeked crested gibbon, owston's palm civet, the horse bear, the slow loris, the otter, and several wild cats. The gray-shanked douc langur is among the critically endangered species on the red list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The FFI and GreentViet are working with local administrations and the community to establish an area for stricter and more effective management and protection of the Kon Plong forest.
