This was announced during a conference to review 10 years of the implementation of a campaign that promotes solidarity and helps disadvantaged people integrate into society, and a program on poverty reduction held in Da Nang city on Wednesday. There are currently more than 73,000 blind people in Vietnam, of whom, more than 10,000 have been given loans worth 2.2 million USD to boost their production and trade activities. President of the Vietnam Blind Association Pham Viet Thu said nearly 2,000 charity houses have been built for blind people. "Many blind people’s household economies have improved significantly thanks to such loan provisions. We’ll encourage concerned parties to help blind people to get involved in high-income jobs to further reduce poverty, and integrate into society.", said Mr. Thu.
