(VOVWORLD) - The Bank of England kept its primary interest rate at 0.1 percent Thursday, a week after cutting the rate to a record-low level to combat economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.
The BoE's Monetary Policy Committee voted to maintain the rate following last week's emergency meeting to respond to a fast-moving COVID-19 outbreak in the UK. They voted to keep the quantitative easing bond-buying stimulus at more than 770 billion USD, after injecting another 245 billion USD last week.
