(VOVworld) - A man resembling Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau dismisses Nigerian military claims of his death in a new video obtained by the AFP news agency on Thursday. In the video, Shekau announces that Boko Haram has set up an Islamic state in towns and villages it has seized in Nigeria and has created sharia criminal courts across the country.

In another video released in August, the Boko Haram leader announces the establishment of an Islamic state in the town of Gwoza and declares areas seized near the Cameroon border "Muslim territory".
