(VOVworld) – 69 people were killed and 100 others injured in a spate of bomb attacks on Tuesday in Baghdad, Iraq. An attack in Shiite al-Shaab district killed 34 people and injured 75 others.

A car bomb went off in nearby Sadr City killing 18 people and injuring 35 others. Two other attacks in the al-Rasheed area, South Baghdad, and the Habibya area killed 17 people and injured 40 others. The Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for one of the attacks.
Weekly suicide attacks have occurred while Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi struggles to fight corruption by reshuffling is cabinet.
