(VOVworld) – At least 23 people were killed and 61 others were injured in two car bomb attacks at commercial areas in Baghdad, Iraq on Sunday.

According to Iraq’s Ministry of Interior, A car bomb exploded in Karrada-Dakhil in the south of Badghdad, killing 18 people and wounding 45. Shortly afterward, an improvised explosive device went off in Shallal commercial area in eastern Baghdad, killing 5 people and wounding 16. The Islamic State claimed the responsibility for the attack in Karrada-Dakhil but there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the second bombing.
