If members of Parliament genuinely want more time to study his deal, they can have it, but they have to agree to a general election on December 12, Johnson told TV broadcasters in an interview.
The same day, President-elect of the European Commission Ursula von derLeyen told reporters in Helsinki that if Britain gets an extension and remains in the European Union after the end of the month, then, of course, she will ask the UK to appoint and send a commissioner to Brussels.
