(VOVworld) -Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff tweeted an apology to all Brazilians after Brazil’s 1-7 World Cup semi-final defeat to Germany on Tuesday.

Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari also asked for forgiveness from his countrymen, saying it was the worst day of his life. He took full responsibility for the catastrophic result but said nothing about whether he would continue to lead the team. In his message to Brazilian football fans, he said “the team did all they could and Selecao was defeated by a great football team”. He apologized to Brazilians for not taking the national team to the World Cup’s final match at the legendary Maracana stadium as promised, adding that the whole team will now focus on the third place match at Brasilia stadium this Saturday.
