(VOVWORLD) - The funeral of Prince Philip, the late husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, took place on Saturday in Winsor Castle, west of London.

Under the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 50-minute intimate service was attended by 30 people including members of the royal family.
A minute of silence was observed across the country to bid him farewell.
The funeral was broadcast live on TV as a mark of respect to an important figure of the British monarchy.
Police and barriers were deployed to the funeral site for utmost security.
The royal family will observe two weeks of royal mourning.
Pigeons were released at the National Memorial Arboretum in central England.
Rituals to remember Prince Philip were also held in Sweden and Denmark.
