Britain reassures Russia about NATO's role
(VOVWORLD) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants to offer Russia reassurance about NATO's role, saying NATO is a defensive alliance and any European democracy should be allowed to join, his spokesperson said on Monday.

The spokesperson said that Britain wants to work with Russia and provide diplomatic reassurance on that front, but will make no concessions.
Tensions between Russia and the West have escalated in recent days, after the US and NATO suggested Russia is preparing to take military action against Ukraine. Moscow says the accusation is baseless and insists Russia does not pose a threat to any country.
