(VOVWORLD) - A carnival themed “Brocade road” took place in Gia Nghia town, Dak Nong province on Tuesday as part of the first Vietnam brocade culture festival there.

The event attracted 2,000 craftsmen and professional and amateur artists nationwide and foreign delegations from Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia.
A performance of Gong and traditional instruments, singing, and dancing was held. Groups attending the carnival paraded with specific traditional brocade costumes of many ethnic groups.
A brocade fashion show entitled “Brocade dream” featured collections of traditional and modern brocade, and fashion accessories.
Do Trinh Hoang Nam, a participating designer, said: “Through the festival, I want introduce more brocade patterns to domestic and foreign people. The show offers designers an opportunity to develop their own colorful collections. If Ao Dai, long traditional dress is Vietnam’s pride, brocade is a cultural identity.”
