Brunei stands by UNCLOS in resolving East Sea disputes
(VOVWORLD) - Territorial disputes should be resolved in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the rules and principles of international law, the Brunei Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The statement said all countries need to promote a calm, peaceful, and conducive environment, build confidence and enhance mutual trust in the region. The Ministry stressed the importance of working actively towards concluding an effective and substantive Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).
