At this National Assembly session, the government has submitted five projects to expand urban areas and create regional transportation corridors, and plans to expand the expressway system to create a breakthrough for national and regional economic development.

Ring Road 4 in Hanoi and Ring Road 3 in Ho Chi Minh City are considered new development spaces for major urban and economic centers.
In the Mekong Delta, the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Can De highway will facilitate inter-regional and international traffic.
“The Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway project will create development momentum for the entire southeast region. In the Central Highlands, we’re building a highway from Buon Ma Thuot to Khanh Hoa province to connect the Central Highlands and the sea,” said Mr. The.
He added that automatic non-stop toll collection is a new technology which needs to be applied to make travel and toll payment more convenient. The technology has been around since 2015 and its installation on certain routes will be completed by the end of July.
Mr. The also talked about the status of several transportation projects, the establishment of a transportation infrastructure development fund, and solutions to rising material prices affecting key national construction projects.
