The event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, the French General Consulate, and Can Tho University. It’s an annual event for French-speaking people and students to exchange and improve the quality of learning French in the Mekong Delta region. This year, more than 8,000 pupils and 500 students of French language have joined activities to promote the teaching of French in the region.
Duong Tan Hien, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City’s People’s Committee, said: “Can Tho city has enhanced the teaching of French and focused on language skill training and majors relating to tourism and trade. We’ve also strengthened relationship with French businesses. Projects funded by the French government and non-governmental organizations have gained visible results and contributed to social development.”
The Can Tho University and Franco-Viet Career signed a contract on job introduction for students and offered 10 scholars to students excelling in Francophone activities.
