(VOVworld) – Can Tho City wants to boost cooperation with the UK in education via exchanges of students, lecturers, and experts, abroad study, and the establishment of research institutes in fields of mutual interest. Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Thanh Thong made the remarks while receiving British Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever on Friday. Ambassador Lever said the UK always attaches great importance to its education cooperation with Vietnam, citing an increase from 10 to 30 annual Chevening scholarships offered to Vietnamese students over the past years. He added that the UK has also offered Vietnamese students many opportunities to receive internationally recognized academic certificates by registering to courses organized by the British Council in Vietnam.
