Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada Pham Cao Phong underlined the factors that make Vietnam an attractive destination: its central location in Southeast Asia and efforts to strengthen its laws and institutions.
Vietnam can be a bridge between Canadian goods and services and 660 million consumers in ASEAN and other nearby markets, the ambassador said, adding that Canada can serve as a gateway for Vietnamese products to penetrate markets in North America.
Phong admitted it’s a challenging time, but said it’s also an opportunity to boost cooperation and bilateral trade to achieve sustainable growth and prosperity for both countries in the spirit of the comprehensive partnership they set up three years ago.
