(VOVWORLD) - A seminar was held in Vancouver on Saturday to help Canadian businesses better understand the Vietnamese market, which is considered Canada's largest partner in ASEAN since 2015.
Entitled "Doing business in Vietnam and Canada, what entrepreneurs need to know", seminar participants were mainly Vietnamese-Canadian businessmen who are eager to invest in their homeland.
Addressing the event, Nguyen Quang Trung, Consul General of Vietnam in Vancouver, introduced Vietnam’s socio-economic situation, especially Vietnam’s achievements over the past time thanks to the post-COVID economic recovery and development efforts.
Accordingly, Vietnam’s GDP grew 8.02% last year, far exceeding the set target and the highest growth rate in the region and over the past 11 years.
The seminar was one of the series of business and investment promotion activities between the two countries to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations this year.
Vietnam and Canada are experiencing a good period with two-way trade turnover reaching 11 billion CAD (about 8 billion USD).
