(VOVWORLD) - Striker and captain of the Vietnam national women’s team Huynh Nhu has been named among six Asian stars who can emerge as heroes for their countries at the Women’s World Cup 2023, said the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The six stars include Huynh Nhu of Vietnam, Sam Kerr of Australia, Yui Hasegawa of Japan, Ji So Yun of the Republic of Korea, Wang Shuang of China, and Sarina Bolden of the Philippines, who represent their countries with their participation in the Women’s World Cup 2023 in New Zealand and Australia.
The AFC called Huynh Nhu a symbol of the rise of women’s football in Vietnam. With more than 100 caps and the winner of Vietnam’s “Player of the Year” the past four years in a row, she is the poster girl of Vietnamese football, the AFC said.
