The event marks 64 years since President Ho Chi Minh visited Cat Ba fishing village, March 31, and the traditional day of Vietnam's fisheries industry, April 1.

The program aims to honor traditional values, typical characteristics of lifestyle and culture of Cat Ba islanders and promote the potential and outstanding strengths of Cat Ba archipelago.

Other activities include trade fair-Cat Ba fisheries tourism, the 9th national championship of lion and dragon clubs, national championships and national youth championships of beach volleyball, and dragon boat racing.

Bui Tuan Manh, Chairman of Cat Hai district People’s Committee, said that eight activities will be held in Cat Hai district’s traditional festival this year.

“This is a good opportunity for Cat Hai to introduce Cat Ba Archipelago Biosphere Reserve, a special national relic, Lan Ha Bay, one of 46 members of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club, near and far,” said Manh.
