Celebrations mark 127th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh

(VOVWORLD) - A monument of President Ho Chi Minh and his father Nguyen Sinh Sac were inaugurated in Binh Dinh province on Thursday to commemorate the 127th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh on May 19.

The twin bronze statues stand 10.8 meters high and weighs 15 tons.

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh addressed the ceremony: “We believe that the revolutionary tradition and spirit, and the creativity of the provincial administration and people, will continue to make Binh Dinh a prosperous and civilized locality of the central region.”

The same day, a dialogue with several individuals who worked with President Ho Chi Minh was held in the Revolutionary Base Safety Zone (ATK) in Thai Nguyen province.

An exhibition at the Thua Thien-Hue branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum displayed 120 items recalling Ho Chi Minh’s moral example and memories of Uncle Ho and Hue city.

On Wednesday and Thursday, a contest of southern Vietnam folk songs was organized for members of Long An’s Trade Union. 37 performances praised the nation, the Party, and President Ho Chi Minh.

Media in Argentina have been running stories this week praising President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology.

A magazine about Latin America published a brief biography of Ho Chi Minh which highlighted his revolutionary cause and praised him as a true hero of the Vietnamese nation, one of Vietnam's greatest intellectuals.

The news website acercandonaciones.com posted a photo of President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese national flag beside an article that portrayed Uncle Ho as a champion of peace.

Author Jorge Tuero wrote that President Ho was a brilliant ideologue, political theorist, social critic, politician, and military thinker - a Vietnamese hero and the preeminent soldier of the international communist and worker revolutionary movements.
