Celebrations of 40th anniversary of southern liberation, national reunification
(VOVworld)- A program to mark the 40th anniversary of southern liberation and national reunification was held in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday. Witnesses of Sai Gon- Gia Dinh student movements attended the event which featured beautiful songs about Vietnam’s revolution’s victories and Vietnamese youth’s revolutionary enthusiasm.

Doctor Truong Minh Nhut is of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Education and Communications: “This is a meaningful program that revives the history and tradition of Vietnamese people’s uprisings and national liberation struggles. This is a historic meeting between generations and continuation of our tradition. I hope that today generation will continue promote our revolutionary tradition and uphold the spirit of the 1975 Spring Victory”.
On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of General Hoang Van Thai, the Vietnam Army History Museum organized an exhibition featuring the life and revolutionary of the General, who was the first Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.
A meeting to mark the 40th anniversary of southern liberation, national reunification took place in Tien Giang province on Saturday. The participants stressed that the 1975 Spring Victory demonstrated the outstanding leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the strength of national unity and Vietnamese people’s bravery. Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan urged Tien Giang authorities and people to uphold their revolutionary tradition to boost local development:“Tien Giang province needs to strengthen Party building and the movement of following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. It’s important to focus on the fight against corruption and bureaucracy, accelerate administrative reforms, and promote democracy and national unity”.
